My name is Melitta Wright. I am a happily married woman who lives life to the fullest in northern California’s east bay area. I started soul searching at a very young age and reveled in the fact that the more I learned, the more there was to know. A strict, religious family in the Pentecostal Church of God In Christ raised me. Needless to say, I was keenly aware of the power and omnipotence of God, even as a child. I was obedient and well behaved but my desire to know more often got me in precarious situations. I was taught to never question God, but the older I got, the less comfortable I was accepting what I was being fed spiritually in the face of so many worldly contradictions. At the tender age of 12 I knew my desire to be closer to God would not be fulfilled by the things I learned in church alone. I decided to open myself up to learning about the divine in any way I could. Looking back, I clearly see how that openness changed the course of my life and accelerated the trajectory of my spiritual path. Awakening to the truth is my passion. It’s what wakes me up in the wee hours of the morning and what keeps me up in the late hours of the night. I have learned so much through my studies, my travels, my relationships and most importantly my experiences. I created Awakened Soul with the hope that sharing this part of me will help you remember the truth about who you really are and empower you to consciously create the life of your dreams.
